Together with Arnau Ruiz de Villa (and thanks to his photographic, editting, and social skills),we have also produced visual material in the form of several photo reportages and two documentaries. They are visual reflections into specific ethnographic realities.
DOCUMENTARIES
Long documentary about low-scale gold mining in the Andes. Available online at YouTube (2010 CC (by-nc-nd).
What is gold? What is mining?
For some, it is related to jewellery and luxury. For others, it is all about investment and geo-political interests. For others, it means history and war, pollution and food security… But gold and mining can also be part of your routine, your work, simply your own life. This documentary looks at the lives of those others who show us how much gold and mining weigh on the lives of so many people and generations.
With the collaboration of Sílvia León, Juan Cordero, Menthor Sánchez, Gilberto Jara, Glória Chicaiza, Milton Maldonado, Borja family, Diana M. Codesal, Erik Rodas, Marta Ramos, the cultural direction of the Central Bank of Ecuador, the Museum of Aboriginal Cultures of Cuenca, and the Royal Library of Copenhagen.
